    REVIEWS AND ARTICLES:
(…) Graphic works by Marek Górny are dynamic compositions using strong tonal contrast where sharp light and sharp shade going through forms or pseudo-objects create balance. (…) In contrast, in painting there is more tranquillity and lyricism. These compositions bring associations with the Polish painting of the beginning of the century. (…) Looking at the set of graphic works and images, one has also an impression of mutual supplementation, which suggests a wide array of the author’s creative abilities…

Fragments of the review of the exhibition at SCK “Pod Jaszczurami” Teatr Sytuacji Gallery Krakow – Main Market Square, April 1991

Marek Górny’s paintings belong to the colourist tradition which is still alive at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow from which the Artist has graduated. The greatest masters of this trend have been lecturers at this Academy. Let’s remind that the main message of colourism was seeing the reality through colour; expressing the massiveness of space with colour and the principle of colour of the entire field of image as well as a sort of painter’s instinct and temperament emphasised by its representatives and art critics. (…) Marek Górny’s still lifes are hand-written letters. It must be stressed that the Artist’s hand-writing is very beautiful. He also writes straight and clearly, caring for the style and way of delivering. His paintings, like those of other colourists, are joyful paeans in honour of the beauty of the reality that surrounds us. His works manifest good and sophisticated taste in the understanding of the aesthetic beauty of things.

Fragments of the catalogue review, May, 1998

(…) made with the expressive painting gesture of Marek Górny’s soul, they constitute the space in which a human seems to be hobbled by his own impotence.
    Zofia Weiss-Nowina Konopka
Fragment of the introduction to the catalogue of the collective exhibition Time Lost…, Time Found… (Czas utracony… Czas odnaleziony)…, Krakow, March-April 2003

Marek Górny belongs to artists appreciated by a narrow group of experts and he is rather unknown to a wider audience even though the public should find interest in him as his paintings and graphic works are easily recognisable and legible in the context of the contemporary chaos, without directions, with the vanishing tested criteria. He is an artist capable of combining individual characteristics with the known codes that look fresh in his version. (…) He is not interested in new painting techniques, for example acrylic painting, as they are artificial. Contrary to numerous contemporary artists who seek modernity, he is not ashamed of his will to compose “his totally own” vision on canvas, a sort of a “different world, distant from the realistic and more harmonious one”, creating the “homogeneous closed entirety.” (…) Górny’s world is beautiful and it fascinates us both with the variety of very “Mediterranean” sketches from Sicily and from Majorca.

Fragments of the article Niepokój uklasyczniony. Twórczość Marka Górnego (Unrest Made Classic. Works by Marek Górny) in: Kraków 2008, issue 5, pp. 86–87

(…) Marek Górny’s still lifes do not refer to the classics of the theme. He paints them in the aesthetics and painting ideology of artists from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow of the 1920s and 1930s. (…) a great deal of very decent paintings…
